holiday project

this video really made us work together in this because we both had to talk and we had to talk to one another. after this video was made we ran out of music because our internet wouldnt work so we had to be stuck with only two songs. we would have rather made a different song for the ending but what happened was that the video still turned out all right even though we only had the two songs. we did a good job on how we made the video flow and that we were able to make the ending very good, by saying happy holidays together. i would have likec to make the conversation between us better because we kind of didnt actually have a conversation we just kind of talked back and forth. in the video i did pretty much all of the work with the music and the editing, while ashley worked on ideas the script and the pictures. i worked on putting us behind the green screen, making the audio levels balanced, and totake the videos we had and edit them in adobe premiere pro. my partner helped me with my script and i helped my partner with her confidence, and also with the the music/ pictures in tha background. if we could redo this project i would have made the videos backgrounds better, put better music, and put more information in my script/ make it more exciting

Green Screen workshop

this workshop taught me a great deal on how to make green screen videos, because before this i had  absolutely no idea on how to work the video or even know what to do with this greenscreen. this workshop taught me that you just need to remove the color effects of a color so that you can take out the green and put whatever you want in the background. you must also becareful though of what the persion is wearing because if you take out that color then the person will be missing part of their body. after you take out the greenscreen background, you add your own image in the background so that you can be standing in front of whatever you want.

cyberbully final draft

The actual changes we made for our video is that we edited all our interviews so they would not drag on. That really shortened the video a lot actually but was probably for the better.

What I discovered while working on this video was on how to add and edit sounds, how to change the lighting on a specific clip (thanks to cesar), and how to speed up a clip or slow it down.

What I think about this project was that it took a longer time than I expected. The video itself has turned from an variety of moods into one serious mood. this video is a lot better than the rough draft.

cyber bullying

this video really showed me how bad the effects of cyberbullying and how many people dislike or even hearing about cyberbullying. this video also shows peoples opinions on cyberbullying and that all the people think that it is bad. this video really taught me about all the editing tools and how to add and change music in a video. the audio channels also taught me how to fade in and out music. i had to use all of my editing skills in order to be able to make this video the best it could be. what we could have done better in this video is that we could have shortened the interviews because alot of them dragged on. we would also liked to add some clips that were just of the campus or of people texting or something because it is just pure interviews pretty much. wwe also need to fix the title and add some new ones too. we also need to fix the titles consistensy. they changed throughout the video and that was not good. another thing was that some of the cuts to scenery did not connect at all. they were just random cuts. another thing was that the music didnt support what the people were talking about and it was also too loud at times; not allowing you to hear the speaker. what we liked about our video is the music even though it did not work with the video at sometimes. we also are very proud of our ending. if we could do this project all over again we would get more action clips and also we would get better music that fit throughout the whole entire video. another thing we would fix is we would get scenery shots that actually go with what the people are saying and makes the point easier to get across.

lifting extracting

this is an example of an extracting edit .this lifting and extracting video taught me how to lift videos correctly from the video and how to extract a video carefully. the way you lift is by setting an inpoint and an outpoint then you select lift from the program panel and it will take the video out leaving room for a new clip or just extra space. to extract a clip you simply put an inpoint and an outpoint then you select the extract button from the program panel causing the video to be extracted or dissapear. then the timeline will automatically ripple delete.

titles

this workshop taught me how to make a video with titles. the actual title may seem easy but to put a title on a moving picture you must create a title and then add the title to the top part of the timeline causing the title to appear in the video clip. as you can see i have edie's name appear when she is on the horse and when the horse is jumping the hurdles also.
to do this you must create a title by a defalt still or a template and then you add the title to the video 2 section of the timeline causing the title to show on an active clip

insert

this is an example of a insert edit. in a insert edit you add a clip in between two other clips to make the time not change at all. in a insert the other clips which you are putting the clip in will move to the right to make room for the inserted clip. to do this you must bring down a clip from the source panel while holding down the control key and drag it into the timeline causing a insert edit

overlay

This is an example of an overlay edit. An overlay edit causes a clip to overlay over an already exsisting clip. To do this, you need to drag the clip from the source panel into the timeline without seperating them. . after that you drag the clip into the time line over the video causing an overlay edit. I decided to overlay the 2nd clip where I did because i needed to be able to make the overlay perfectlty clear

I think i am getting better at making videos, editing, removing, and placing tha in point and out point on a video. I am happy with tha way i edited tha video so that tha in points would run smoothly ony with slight mishaps in tha video. if I could do tha video over i would redo nothing, because i liked tha way tha video turned out. on my next project i need to learn to get tha videos inpoint and outpoint to run almost perfect.

one way i helped my parter was we discussed tha videos we wanted and decided what was good and what was not good. I also helped him by telling him tha title was ok, and he did good on tha title page. my partner helped me by showing me where to place videos in tha project and how to do tha title right. one challenge we faced was that we could not watch all of tha videos because we had to record every ones videos. we overcame this problem by watching a few and decided which ones we wanted to use. :)

filming and capturing

Today i learned how to take video straight from a video camera and put it into a computer, also i learned that if you do not turn off tha video cam. that you might erase all tha memory on tha camcorder. i also learned that firewire is way faster than an USB cord

        My final clip was very good except for tha lighting because it made my face completely white. Tha final product showed me that i had learned how to edit a video and cut out tha parts that i want in tha clip. Tha final product ended up looking very nice so im happy about that. I would like to have some sound so i can be 100% sure that my clip is perfect.
        I would help my partner with remembering what to do and how to do it and my partner would help me with tha same stuff. Tha power point really helped me to understand every step. I had to learn how to overcome our computer since it had no sound

this video is shot during the afternoon because tha filmaker wants you to see that the cement worker had been working all day and then tha kid came and messed it up
